Residential property financing (mortgage) is a problem that is being solved in various ways in different countries. The Country and its institutions, private companies etc. are participating in this process. Most of the counties, seeking to decrease the risk related to the residential financing use the state’s guarantees and credit insurance. The importance of this way is evident to increase the number of people getting credit for residential properties (that is people on lower income, young families, that has no possibility to earn the money for the initial deposit). This way decreases the risk for creditors. The mission of UAB „Būsto paslaugų draudimas“  is to help the Lithuanian people get financing to buy the residential property or modernize by insuring their credit.

Starting with the year 1999, when the company was incorporated more than 40, 000 families used the services for insuring the credit of their residential properties. The company is happy that it gave the people  the opportunity to own their own homes.

In 2005 the company started to insurance the credit for modernizations of multi-apartments houses. At this moment the company has  insured 1/10 of the credit given by the banks.
The Company is paying a lot of attention to the evaluation, the development and risk management of it’s performance, also improving on the conditions for insurance of credit for the modernization of multi-apartments houses. The Company is also training the bank employees and informing the society off all the available services.
UAB„Būsto paskolų draudimas“is a member of one of the biggest residential property financing association  in the world “International Union for Housing Finance”. We as a Company are proud to say, that not only did we learn form the experience of other countries, but have now also became an example for other countries in similar circumstance.
